Knit a Simple Dishcloth

This is a great project for anyone who is just learning how to knit. It's not an overly complicated project and the yarn is easy to find and not too expensive. Best of all the final result gives you something you can use, even if it doesn't turn out perfectly 😉

This pattern has moved!! If you wait 10 seconds you will automatically go there.

The Mystery Bird Call

The first time we went out camping this year was back in June.  The first night we were there we heard this sound and couldn't quite figure out what it was.  We were camped  in an open spot in the woods and heard it flying in large circles above our heads.  Because it was night, we all assumed that it was a bat catching bugs and we were hearing the sonar it uses to locate its prey.

Well, that was what we thought until we heard it again periodically throughout the day.  We saw what could have been a bird flying around overhead.  It was a smaller in size and had very short wings.  It very well could have been a bat but I don't know of any that fly around during the day. Maybe they do, I don't know.

The recording was done with my cell phone because that was all that I had on hand, I was camping afterall.  Make sure that you turn your speakers up on your computer because it's not that loud.  What you're listening for is the woo-woo-woo-wooo-woooo that starts quiet, gets lounder, fades a bit then stops.

I would love to get some feedback on this.  If you know anyone, like an ornithologist, who would have some more information I would love to get his or her opinion.  We were just north of Highway 43 near the BC border when we heard it and it was in early June, if that helps.  It was a very loud noise in person and there may have been two of them.

Northern Lights!

Last night just as we were getting ready to go to bed, I went to close our front window.  There was a guy walking by and I thought he had turned and was looking at me.  Turns out, he was looking in exactly to opposite direction up at the sky.  I looked up and saw what he was looking at...the Northern Lights!  They were absolutely fantastic and dancing across the sky marvelously.  I tried to take some photos and videos of it to show everyone.  Well, the video turned out horribly, but some of the photos did alright. Take a look at the short compiled video of them.

Today I Went With a Theme...

Like lots of people who sell their stuff on Etsy, I'm always looking for a new way to link my items together in some logical way.  I usually have a very difficult time in doing this because I sell a lot of different things from knitting to jewelry to soap to vintage items and more.

Cat Teacup

Cat Bracelet

Kitten Salt & Pepper Shakers
Cat Teapot

Crocheted Kitty

So, today turned out to be somewhat of a nice surprise...I noticed that a number of items that I had were cat related somehow.  I listed of them all together, with the exception of a bracelet that I had listed earlier. I also made sure that a supplied a link in the description of each so that all the items could easily be found.  You can see what I mean here with this link to my cat stuff.

Now whether this will work in my favour or not I can only guess, but it never hurts to try.  Does anyone else have any ideas out there to help with their sales?  I would love to hear some.

This is more than a common granny square...this is what is known as an afghan stitch or tunisian crochet.
